But my legs were killing before the end of the first day from all the walking
I was in too much of a rant mode yesterday to discuss our weekend in Disneyland. I hadn't been there since 1992, so it was long overdue for me. Boy did we have a blast! Here is the breakdown, as I remember it:
x3
Pirates of the Caribbean
x2
Haunted Mansion
Peter Pan's Flight
Mr Toad's Wild Ride
Jungle Cruise (once during day and once at night)
Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin
Storybook Land Canal Boats
Tarzan's (previously Swiss Family Robinson) Treehouse
x1
Tom Sawyer's Island
Mark Twain Riverboat
Davy Crockett's Explorer Canoes
It's a Small World
Monorail
Autopia
Honey I Shrunk the Audience
Alice in Wonderland
The Teacups (aka Mad Tea Party)
Enchanted Tiki Room
Snow White's Scary Adventures
Minnie and Mickey's Houses
Billy Hill and the Hillbillies - musical show in Frontierland
Disneyland Railroad
Fantasmic - caught snippets of this water and lights show in between other adventures. Not exactly sure why people were camped out for 5 hours for it.
The fast pass is the best invention ever. I don't understand why people would stand in a line with a wait time of 80 minutes, when they could just get a fast pass. You can run around the park singing "Painting the Roses Red" and having a grand old time, and then you just show up to the ride entrance during your designated time, flash your fast pass, offer a sympathetic look to the line standers, and sail on in. Of course it was so crowded that in a few instances the line just to get the fast pass was pretty long itself. Oh well.
We also hit up California Adventures - supposedly the less popular park, but it seemed just as crowded to me. There are fewer rides, but we did do Mulholland Madness, Soaring over California, MuppetVision 3D, Aladdin Show (which was fantastic), Redwood Creek Challenge (fun rope bridges), and a quick tour of sourbread making at the Boudin bakery.
The most amazing thing about the weekend is that I did not purchase a single thing. No souvenirs for me! Can you believe it?
