I watched Whale Rider last night. What a lovely movie. I wanted to kick the grandfather's ass, but it was a lovely movie. And now this on top of the LOTR series really makes me want to go to New Zealand.

I also watched Pieces of April (I was up until 1:30 a.m. - don't ask). It was surprisingly good. The handheld digital camera was annoying at first, but I got used to it. I don't think I will ever like Katie Holmes because she is too Katie Holmes-ish. But I always love to see Oliver Platt, and Patricia Clarkson was good (I am rooting for her for Supporting Actress on Sunday), and Sean Hayes was hilarious in a very creepy way as upstairs neighbor Wayne - I am surprised I didn't hear any buzz about him.
